I recently read a book called Left for Dead by Dick Quinn (link here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/096...lance&n=283155) which I picked up at an op shop for 10cents.
Here is a synopsis from a website.
----------------------------------------
Left for dead by his doctors after a 1978 heart attack and failed bypass surgery, Dick Quinn discovered a herb that saved his life. Left for dead tells his remarkable story and shows how the controls blood pressure and cholesterol, cleans arteries, prevents heart attacks and enjoy a wonderful quality of life without drugs or special diets.
HEART ATTACK-
An overwhelming presence took charge of my spirit, my life force, my soul. I was floating in the air, watching my body down below..... “that was the day i died for the first time”
OPEN HEART SURGERY-
Truly a remarkable performance by remarkably skilled people working together like a skilled drill team, in a extraordinarliy equipped operating theratre at a cost of many dollars and much pain. To bad it dosn't work
CHOLESTEROL-
I have lower blood pressure and cholesterol preventing heart attcks. I felt terrific and enjoyed a wonderfful quality of life for years because of a common kitchen spice.
------------------------------------------
The spice was cayenne. He also takes garlic, hawthorn and a lot of other herbs. I read this and was impressed by what he claimed and did some Internet research of my own. Cayenne has long been known to open the veins and arteries and help control cholesterol by 'washing away' deposits on the walls of the blood vessels.
I decided to try it. I was a bit short of $$ (as usual) so simply bought a boittle of cayenne pepper at the supermarket and put it into capsules (left over from my cat's cranberry treatment) and take pone twice a day.
Since starting this regime 1 week go my BP has dropped from 123-126/83-86 to a steady 110/76. I THINK it is the cayenne, I will keep monitoring and let you all know.
I firmly beleive in herbal remedies and take the following with my Atkins:
AM: 1 x 1000mg flax seed oil, 1 x 500mg Vitamin E, 1 x 300mg garlic oil, 1 cayenne (as above), 1 echinacea tablet.
PM: 1 x multivitamin, 1 x 300mg garlic oil, 1 cayenne (as above), 1 echinacea tablet
PLUS: I have some calcium and magnesium on order at the health food shop.
I plan to build up to the commercialy available cayenne capsules, as I have lways had a food intolerance to spicy stuff and garlic, so I'm sytarting off small and will see how it goes. If I do not take the cayenne and garlic in the middle of my meal I get a burning sensation in the gullet, but food with it controls the feeling.
