I was curious to know if anyone, who has been on Atkins for awhile, has had a somewhat significant drop in their cholesterol levels by this WOE?

My totals went up (am menopausal, so that's fairly natural)...but HDL and LDL improved, so my risk ratio went waayyyy down...off the charts safetywise. When I asked my doc if I could go on eating eggs, cream, cheese, pork etc. he said: "Absolutely yes!!"Before and after:

All of my figures have drastically dropped. Except for my urate level which has stayed the same.sigpic260/215/180 Male - 36 y/o
It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

My cholesterol went from 256 (!!!) to 192 after two months on the program. I'l be rechecked every six months, so I'm hoping to see another drop...

My Dr., although he is pro Atkins, said that my #'s would never drop the 100 points that it needs to, staying on Atkins. He would be happy at 50 points, but feels that I still will need to medicate. I told him I want to give it at least 2-3 months and then get retested. These numbers reflect two days after I started Atkins (3-19-07).
Total chol = 305
HDL = 56
LDL = 190
Tri = 294

Definately give it more time - you should recheck in 6 mos, right? I'd measure it out then...
