  • The Doctors Heart Cure by AL Sears, MD

I just finished reading this book and I would really recommend it to anyone with heart problems.
He talks about Dr Atkins, actually they must have been friends as he was with him when he died, but Dr Sears saids that "Dr Atkins accurately diagnosed the cause of the modern epidemics of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, but he prescribed the wrong solution". Dr Sears feels that you need to avoid "typical Western fat" which he describes as adulterated animal fat. There are problems with our beef cattle being fed adulterated grains, hormones and antibiotics.
But beyond that, he discusses an exercise plan which is designed to fast tract you to a healthy heart for 10 minutes a day, he talks about why cholesterol does not cause heart disease and that the meds that they give could possibly be more dangerous than the cholesterol itself.
I think its a great book and really recommend it to anyone with heart problems.

Fred Pescatore, MD, was one of Dr. Atkins' colleagues at the Atkins Center. He's written a number of books too, which basically say the same thing as the older Atkins books did: don't eat highly processed and refined foods.

I think eating more natural and whole foods is the way to go for good health, which is why I avoid the frankenfood and frankingredients used in some foods. :nod
