  • Stopping BP medication!!!

Hi everyone! I have great news! My Dr. advised me to stop taking my blood pressure medication. He had lowered it a few months back, then a month ago I started breaking th tablet into and taking 1/2 the dose.

Last week I was in the clinic and I told him my BP was 110/59, pulse 60 and that I was taking half the dose he had prescribed. He told me to quit taking the meds for 2 weeks and record what my BP is daily.

Jan 1st. 108/81 pulse 58 didn't take the BP meds
    Jan 2nd. 117/85 pulse 69 " " " "
    Jan 3rd. 113-81 pulse 74 " " " "

He said my BP would go up then settle back down to normal. I will be watching it closely. I take it in the morning and in the evening. the readings above are morning readings.

wish me luck that I can stop taking this medication. I have taken BP medication for over 20 years.

This WOL has given me my health back. I love this WOE.

I went back to taking my 1/2 pill a couple days ago.
My BP was going up and I decided to wait til I lost more weight to try to get off the medication.

I have always had trouble with the bottom number and It was going up more than I was wanting to see. So I quietly went and took the 1/2 dose and that is where I stand for now.

The bottom number was between 91 and 96, so I spooked and went back to my meds.

Maybe later I can get off this medication, but until later, I am taking it.
