  • My very good cholesterol reading six months in

After starting in mid August, losing well over 50 pounds, I had a blood workup done last week.

My total is 192, HDL is 50, which is 4 points higher than my last cholesterol test, so improvment there! Triglycerides were 71, LDL 128, ratio 3.84, which is a quite respectable ratio.

Here's to butter on your broccoli and beef on your plate!

Those numbers are great. Proof positive this works. I had mine done at the beginning of the month after 6 weeks on Atkins. My HDL sucks, but everything else was great:

    Total Cholesterol -137
    HDL 29
    LDL 93.8
    Cholesterol/HDL 4.7
    Triglycerides 71

I guess I need more fiber, exercise, and to quit smoking to get the HDL up.
