My blood pressure before I started Atkins ranged from 135/90 (on my best days) to 150/95 (on my worst days).
Now that I've been on Atkins for four weeks, my blood pressure (I've checked it many times so I am certain this is correct) is:
113/78 to 117/81.
That is my range now that I've been eating like this for four weeks. All this past week, every time I've measured it in a store, that's what it's been. (I do trust the store machine measurements because I noticed they never varied by much at all from what the doctor would measure.)
This is the first time in my adult life (I've had my blood pressure checked frequently all my life because of being in the Army, giving blood, going to the doctor regularly, etc.) that my blood pressure has ever been below 120/80.
And that is only ONE of the benefits of this WOE.
I am sleeping better for the first time in my life (no insomnia, which used to be a chronic problem with me).
I am in a much better mood (used to have depression that even the antidepressants didn't help much).
I have much better energy.
Haven't checked my blood sugar levels or lipids yet but I'm pretty sure those are going to be looking good too, at least after I stop losing weight and stop dumping lots of my body fat into my bloodstream.
Thank you, Dr. Atkins and all doctors who are researching and recommending the low-carb WOE!

As a STAC'er, it makes me really question why we leave this WOE/WOL...
