I have a problem with coffee. I've tried every brand of decaf and I hate them all. I love regular coffee. I started weaning myself off of it on Saturday, because I have a funny feeling it might be killing me. I was doing OK, until this afternoon. Now I feel upset, headachey, anxious, sad, foggy, slow, sleepy, and all I want is coffee. It's more than just the caffiene I'm addicted to. There is something warm and fuzzy about having a cup, or several cups of coffee. I used to feel this way about bread, but I got over it. Why can't I kick this thing? Can anyone help?

I absolutely love coffee, its my elixar of life.
There are a couple things that I did.
Going cold turkey is really the best way, and I have found that those bulk coffees sold in grocery stores like millstone are not as bad as the canned Folgers.
If it becomes a real problem, wean yourself off the caffinated by buying the bulk. Fill about half the bag with decaf and then top it off with caffinated, Shake well. Then the next bag, do a half the bag. It really worked for me.
Luck to ya

I am. I'm over my caffiene addiction. I haven't had coffee in 2 weeks. I felt miserable at first, but now I feel great. I'm a little concerned now that it's getting closer to the end of the month at work that working lots of overtime might drive me to have some, but I'll stay strong. I don't want to have to go thru the withdrawls ever again.
Thanks for your post 2big. It feels good to be free.

Re: Coffee
Does the the caffine really make a difference in the weight lose?
I drink probably 4 cups a day. I mix french roast with hazelnut and add heavy whipping cream. It's more like a dessert and I'm really not ready to give it up. I do drink decaf but they don't have decaf at work.
I know, just an excuse.
So what about the weight loss, will more come off faster if I get off the caffine?

Re: Coffee
It seems to stall many. If you are not loosing you may want to look at taking it out. In my case it was just too much cream. I am fine with 1 cup of real stuff but if I have 3 or 4 decaf its just too much cream.~Lauren~
support? Isn't it time to give some back?

Re: Coffee
look up the effects of caffien on insulin and you will see why you don't want a fat storing hormone running through your blood while you are eating Atkins.

Re: Coffee
Pipee congrats on giving up your addiction.
Heidi3 sorry you are addicted to a fat storing hormone stimulant. Since you can't or won't give it up you can help your Atkins by not consuming it with any food.
