    heh...so i did it..

Quit smoking last Friday morning...had my last one in the pack, and made a spontaneous decision to quit. I didn't post about it here immediately because I wanted to see if I could do it...things have been pretty good so far, had a few cravings, but being broke has helped! lol The worst craving I had was seeing someone smoke on TV...I have quit before though, and I remember the first 2 weeks being the worst...then after that you don't think about it. So, 4 days down, 10 more to go and I'm past the 2 week mark! hehe

funny, it's not even that hard...the only thing that made it hard was making myself want to quit...I'm not sure I am as addicted to niccotine as most are...I quit before no problem, but just started back up because I felt like it...I guess the reality of lung cancer hasn't really clicked with me...But I know it's not good so I somehow just put them down. Well, my main motivation is that my bf doesn't like them...he wont french kiss me! Now he will haha.

        Kewl

My dad couldn't quit until he had a minor stroke.

There are tons of people who quit and started Atkins at the same time (brook comes to mind). They found that Atkins made quitting easier somehow.

I am the same way... It has never been a problem for me to quit... I have smoked a pack a day for months and just got the urge to quit and had no problems with it... I have always been that way... I am still the kind to smoke occasionally, but I probably smoke one or two days out of the week.(like 4 cigs) It doesn't bother me not to, I just think I actually enjoy it(no matter how disgusting it is)... The more I think about it the more I wonder why I even do it sometimes.......
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

good for you so how are you doing now?
you may gain a few pounds when you quit with a fluid buikld up as your body readjusts to the stoppage of the diuretic effects of the cigs.

                  Happy smoke free low carbing.

I wasn't a heavy smoker really, I used to be, but I quit and when I started again I only had like 3-4 cigs a day...maybe 1 1/2 packs a week tops...Yesterday was the first day that I didn't even THINK about cigarettes...I think I'm pretty much home free now, I totally forgot that I smoked! lol...2 more days is my 2 week mark! woot!
