  • caffeine withdrawl

I'm on day 4 off of coffee. I've had a headache every day, and last night I went to bed with a headache and woke up with one. I have major brain fog too, and feel generally exhausted. Geez, I can't wait till this passes. Anyone have any tips on how to get through this? I'm drinking Green tea, water, and taking tylenol like it was candy, but nothing is working. Help!

I feel for you. I was a 24 can aday Diet coke drinker and by day 3 was ready to quit Atkins cause of the headache. but my day 4 was like something out of a movie the pain was gone and it was so calm and clear andi was high on Atkins LOL.

Know it will get better. Check and be sure you have caffeine free tylenol as some version do contain caffeine too.

Just know you are stronger then this addiction andthink about all the fat molecules you will not be storing cause you are caffiene free!

I found drinking extra water helped the headache. I hope day 5 is better for you

I had a 3 day migraine. Try to stop the pain meds as they can have a rebound (especially codeine) and what you have is a codeine headache, so you take moe, and the headache gets worse, and you get the picture.

I don't know what is in Tylenol, not a brand I've seen here. If you take anything, stick to aspirin. Win't hurt u if it is just a few days. But you are trying to rid your body of toxins, not put more into it.

Thanks everyone, day 3 of induction here, and day 5 off of coffee, and I woke up feeling pretty good, with no headache. I have a long work day today, and am drinking lots of water, but hopefully I'm past the hardest part.

I think coffee is the "nectar of the gods". Anyone out there know of a good decaf brand that can help with the transition to no caffeine??? Tried the grocery store ones...yuk!

                    Re: caffeine withdrawl

I've been doing extended induction for almost 3 whole months , and I've got to say that I kicked the caffeine habit only to start back up again! It has totally sabatoged my efforts to lose weight, I had once suspected that my usual 3 cups of coffee a day were triggering my cravings for sweets but I prayed it wasn't so. Well it was, 4 lbs weight gain and unbearable sugar cravings all the while picking just a "little", needless to say that I am out of ketosis now too. I'm confessing so as to start all over again. I now see that clearly I am extremely caffeine sensitive and I plan to completely stay away from the coffee! I wish you all the best of luck and to anyone that may be skeptical about coffee making you gain- just don't do it, it happened to me! Again the best of luck to everyone, we can do it!
