  • Caffeine Addiction - Going Through Withdrawl

Hey everyone I am addicted to Caffeine really really bad and it's also becoming very costly. I posted on the Addiction site but figured I could talk about it in this thread also since it's about health. I have cut my coffee intake down to one cup a day to try and quit this addiction but I am experiencing withdrawl and it's not a whole lot of fun. I drank my cup of coffee this morning and I felt great and actually got some stuff done, then noon hit and I was dragging, I have a headache which is bound to get worse and I feel really sluggish right now and all I want to do is lay down because I am so exhausted. I hadn't drank any water yet today so I thought if I started drinking some it may help so I filled up a gallon with tap water and I am going to drink the whole thing, it might take a few hours but I'm going to do it. I just drank 20 ounces and I'm starting to feel a little better but I know as soon as I see Dunkin' Donuts on the way to the gym I'm going to have the urge to stop. I suppose I'm just gonna have to take a different way to the gym. It's hard to believe that even though Caffeine is considered a drug it can have such an impact on one's life and control it like any other drug out there.

I can't make it 12 hours without caffeine. I know the headaches well.

I just keep drinking it even though I know I shouldn't.

I'm with you - although I've cut it down dramatically by never drinking a caffeinated beverage without a big ol' bottle of water. For every one drink of caff, I drink three of water. It cut my consumption by at least two-thirds.

But I also can't give it up completely, either. I just can't live with the headaches - it's awful.

        Well, I have done it.
No caffeine today so far. I think I am dying.

        good Lord this sucks.
My head may explode at any moment.

My wife is calling me "caffeine bastard"

Weird things going on. My blood sugar is lower for the last few days as I have lowered my intake. I have read that is because of the caffeine affecting the pancreas.

another odd thing is my hands are freezing!!!! I always have warm hands!!

I used to have trouble working with chocolate because my hands would melt it. But not now! they are like ice!

I figure my body is trying to figure out what I am doing to it and making adjustments.

Feels just like a migraine coming on. Just without the lights in my eyes. I hate migraines.
