  • Day 2 induction without my beloved Coke

its been 2 days without the thing i replaced all meals with (coke) yesterday i felt fantastic and i ate like never before. to be honest i actually felt guilty about consuming so much food after having starved myself of real food for aprox 10 yrs

However today induction flu has really hit me, the headaches wont go away, i feel sick to my stomach and food well it just repulses me have to force myself to eat . This morning i just wanted to give up it would be so easy just popping down to the shop for some Coke. Thankfully i had my beautiful hubby to talk me round (he's also on induction)

the other thing ive noticed is i cannot stop peeing gotta say thats a tad annoying being woken up several times during the night just becasue ive got a full bladder ( its not like im drinking anymore than i was b4 )

anyone else have these issues on Induction ??

im determined to stick with it dispite feeling like ive been hit by a truck , im just hoping this doesnt last long

ive got a long way to go Current weight 253 Lbs Goal weight 121 Lbs

    Love to hear your thoughts

That headache is likely withdrawl from caffeine & other substances that your body has gotten used to having. It will pass in a day or two! I'm glad that you are enjoying real food again! I've been on the WOE about 9 months now, and my hubby and I are still really enjoying the good food. Best wishes,

At some point, you may find the smell of yeasty pizza bread rather nauseating. I know when I smell the bakery department ... all that sugar ... ick.

Also, it's generally a good idea to withdraw from caffeine slowly ... so as to avoid caffeine headaches.

If you don't want to drink a diet Coke, you could consider an Excedrin.

Pink, you should feel better in a few days. Good job for giving up Coke!

          Yep!

And we have this section at the mall where they sell licorice candy. The smell is just disgusting.

Re: Day 2 induction without my beloved Coke

i should probably make myself a little clearer here
while i've given up Coke ive traded it for Coke Zero unlike diet coke it tastes exactly the same as Coke but without the sugar and hence the carbs

think if i'd given up all sources of caffeen i'd be in a worse state and probably FAIL!!!
Later on i plan on making the switch to water with lemon juice but one step at a time

i really shouldnt be complaining about feeling so bad after all ive done this to myself by abusing my body for a decade I NOW MUST PAY THE PRICE!!!

BTW can anyone relate to or explain the constant need to empty my bladder ???

              >> ive traded it for Coke Zero>>

How much exactly are you drinking?

You know there's a limit of 3 servings of sweetener per day?

              >> Later on i plan on making the switch to water with lemon juice >>

Does that mean you're not drinking water now?

well I was going to come share the withdrawal feelings wqith yiou as I was a 24 can aday diet coke addict back when I started and man that caffeine withdrawal headache was murder. I almost quit on day 3. Since you swaped your coke for coke zero then you don't have the caffeien withdrawal headache and are just undergoing induction "flu". you can take any OTC caffeien free product you normally use for headache to assist you with this. Make sure ytou are drinking your water and doing the mandatory exercise part of you atkins. Come join the ADBB PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE for soem fun doing that too.

Apart from Green Tea water is not passing my lips and well frankly the water where i live in outback Australia tastes like its come strait from a swimming pool

yes i am aware of the limit of sweeteners but quite frankly and this my come off harsh , if im Drinking 2 lts of Zero Coke a day and green tea plus eating, something i havent done in 10 yrs its gotta a be a damn sight better than the way things were B4 so to be honest im not worried about it for now nor do i care about the sweetener rule

please understand that giving up regular Coke was a massive step for me I HATED artifical sweeteners to be honest i still do but im choosing to ignore the chemical taste left in my mouth, knowing that the lack of natural sugar is far better for me

                  baby steps

Green tea is not water though.

On Atkins, only pure water counts as water.

That might be so but like i said if u'd ever tasted the water here u'd understand

bit of background : i live in outback NSW , middle of a drought water quality is poor and hence full of chlorine

the town i live in Mines Lead i have a rain water tank that is only usefull for watering a garden

so do i drink rain water that tastes better but will give me lead poisoning or do i drink chlorine flavored water im sure none of u would enjoy drinking a swimming pool!!!!

and all to satisfy the cardinal rule of 3 sweeteners a day ffs give me a goddamn break

and might i just add that i THOUGHT we all came here for support emotionally and physically not to be trodden down with those who are sticklers for RULES!!!

Having been to Scout camp where the water was full of sulpher I feel for you.

have you tried letting the water sit on a counter for 24 hours? that was what fish tank owners were advised to do with tap water so the chlorine whouldn't kill the fish when we changed the water.

Umm, I could be wrong about this, but isn't Coke Zero caffeine free?

Nevermind - looked it up - it does have caffeine...I thought Zero meant no sugar or caffeine...my mistake.
