Getting off of coffee is very hard to do.
I used to drink 4 or 5 cups a day and then a large diet coke later in the day too. But because my BP was high, I had to cut back.
Before coming back onto Atkins, I was limiting myself to only 2 cups of coffee a day and rarely having any diet soda. I did indulge myself in a Starbucks mocha or a frappacino way too often though.
So when I went back on Induction, I completely cut it out. The first week, I was really wanting it bad. The second week was better. I found some decaf in the freezer and bought some heavy cream. The more I thought about it though, the more I knew I needed to stop completely. So backin the freezer it went.
Just finishing up week three and I still want some (especially in the morning) but I got my jug of water and am doing without just fine. Still, there seems to be a social aspect to drinking coffee (i.e., coffee breaks) that will sabotage your best efforts.
I have had an occasional herbal tea and that seems to help me, especially during these winter storms that are rolling thru this time of year.
Stay strong.
