I have cut out all types of soda out of my diet completely! Since Sunday I have drank nothing but water. I am such a pop addict, this has been a very painful transition.
I should have called this post My Dear Friend any kind of soda that is sweet and fizzy. I drank them all(with the exception of Cherry Coke). I work in a place that has free fountain soda for employees, then I would pick up 1 or 2 20z on the way home, drink one at night and one in the morning. If I only picked one up after work at 2am, there were many mornings that I would have to run to the store and buy a couple of 20 oz for the few hours before I went to work. Often, I would buy a couple of 2 liters for the house and drink a full 2 liter in one day.
So, needless to say, I am having huge withdrawls! I have had headaches and queezy stomache feelings for 4 days now. Instead of it being all day, it is now only in the evening when I am at work. But that makes my shift pretty difficult to get through. Tonight I immediately popped a couple excederine when I felt the headache coming on and that did help quite a bit, but by the end of my shift, I started feeling queezy again. I am drinking 60-70oz of water a day. I haven't drank anything else.
I know that this will get better, but I am wondering if, because I was such an addict and drank so much soda, if that is making my withdrawl symptoms more severe, or if it will take me longer than typical amount of time to get through them?
I see many people talking about the induction flu only lasting 48 hours. This has been 4 days already. I thought I was getting past it, but when I felt that headache come on tonight, I knew I am not there yet.
Any thoughts?
Amy
