  • Metformin

Well, my doctor, as I have said before hasn't diagnosed me as PCOS, but I have all the symptoms. Anyway, due to no cycle and glucose on the high side of normal, he put me on Metormin.

It is probably posted somewhere in here, but does it make anyone else feel nasty? I already had like IBS or something, everytime I eat, I had better know where the bathroom is. Well, I have this problem with this med, and it just makes me feel icky. I have started and stopped this med a few times because it makes me feel just gross. I took it again today, and I feel like I slept too long. I always feel gross when I have gotten too much sleep.

Please someone tell me this goes away, like I said, it is probably posted here, but I don't feel like searching. Thanks.
P.S. Again, I think it should already be in here, but I feel nasty and lazy so does PCOS have an effect on your hair, like it thinning? If so, gee, you get other hair, but it abandons your head, that isn't fair. especially since I am only 24.

    Re: Metformin

with lots of meds metaphorin can take some time to get used to. discuss with your doc this yucky feeling and bathroom effect and maybe they will lower your dose and step you into it gradually.

Try this forum it will give you a lot of help with your PCOS: http://www.soulcysters.net/

Also the symptoms will clear within a few weeks... being on a low carb diet is actually a benefit when taking metformin.

Did you start with a low dose and work up to the dose that your doctor recommended... that also helps with the icky feelings.. and from what my doctor said met should help with hair loss too.

Stopping and starting is probably not a good idea... but do talk to your doctor if your feeling really bad.
