  • Hey there!

    Hey there girls!

My name is Micky and I'm new here. For any of you who are new to PCOS, please hear this. I was diagnosed at 12 years old, at over 200 lbs. I had excess body hair, skin tags, no period, insane food cravings, no energy, high testosterone, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar.

I'm now 19 years old, I'm about 160 lbs (yeah, I used to be 145 Boohoo!), no body hair, no skin tags, and all my bloodwork is normal.

Atkins/low carbing saved my LIFE, along with a doctor's supervision and some medications. But now I'm off my meds (except the Birth Control to control my periods) and am doing wonderfully.

There is hope!! I've been living with it for 7 years, and it really doesn't seem like it's been that long. It's been pretty smooth for me, although I know it was probably easy from my mother catching on so early.

Anyway, just wanted to add my two (or 3) cents in and say hello!

    Stay strong, girls!

Micky, what a wonderful story. I'm sure it will give hope to all that read it. Great job!

        Re: Hey there!

        Thank YOU! Thank YOU!

Thank you so much for posting! I had been trying to find someone who had PCOS and followed a low-carb diet to see what their final results were. I'm so glad yours turned out happy!

I've been on this way of eating for just about three months and am wondering when my condition will get better.

I still have the skin tags and was wondering if they fall off or did you have them removed? I still am not regular on my TOM, but the progesterone cream has helped that somewhat. I've been on time several months in a row, but this month I'm about two weeks late. (I took a preg test and it was negative...so I know it is not that just the PCOS acting up.)

Welcome to the board and again thank you for posting! You made my day!!

I look forward to seeing you around!
