  • PCOS: Newly Diagnosed!

    Hello ladies...

I started Atkins last year in October and got off to a really good start. but after I had lost 16lbs it kind of just stopped... not matter how hard I tried!

At the same time I was pursuing a doctor regarding all these different symptoms I had... after doing much research I knew it was PCOS...only problem was getting a Doctor to recognise it too!

Well I found that my lady Doctor to be very sympathetic and was able to get me on Metformin rather quickly! YAY!!

I have now been a month on this medication and it jump started my weight loss... as you can see from my ticker.

What I have found being on Metformin; it actually shows results if you keep to the diet and exercise... whereas before I was getting no results and started lacking commitment.

Now I am back again... and am going keep working hard.

    Hey Deeds

Glad to hear things have begun moving in the right direction for you again! I KNOW your pain...and am also on metformin. I agree that the most important thing is diet and exercise in conjunction with the med...I'm glad that you came to the same conclusion Lookin' forward to seeing you around

      Thanks Cathy...

For some time I was completely at a loss... but I knew I had lost the weight before and WANTED to do it again... and did not want PCOS to win!

It has also made me more aware of my body and how to handle it!

I know what you mean about understanding your own body...they symptoms are so varied and different in each individual it makes for a long and confusing road...first in being diagnosed and then another uphill battle to become healthy and well. I look forward to giving PCOS a big kick in the pants with you! LOL...Have you scoped out the PCOS forum yet?
