Hair Loss

I am not sure if I have POS or not. After researching it I am going to see my dr this week about it. For about a year my periods have been out of sorts. I used to get my period the same time each month with no changes. Then they started to happen every two weeks or so. I never used to get pains with my period but now I get pain in my pelvic region. Because of this pain they did an ultra sound and told me I had cycsts on my overies. Nothing else was done for me. I started to freak out when my hair started to fall out and balding at the front. I had severe dandruff for the first time in my life. I was sent to a hair specialist and she just took three mins or so with me and said because my father was balding it was happening to me. I also started to get zits and hair on my face. I am 39 and this was a new thing for me. My moods have been very strange lately also and my memory is not very good.

My question is:

If I do have POS, is there any chance my hair will grow back at all?

I read your post and tried to do some research on the Internet. I wasn't too successful in finding anything about PCOS (also known as POS) and Hair Loss, although I have heard that this can happen.

I'm glad to hear that you are going to see a Doctor about your overall condition. He/She should ask you about your medical history and probably run some blood work. Make sure you tell your doctor about everything.

Thank you very much Coop2004 for answering me and posting all that great info.

All the research I have read says it causes male pattern baldness. I have always had too much hair lol and now I am losing it all at the front.

I will let you know what my dr. says.
