  • newbie help needed

Hi all im 33 ive had pcos 4 about 15 years. i did atkins 2 years ago and lost about 70 pounds. due 2 back problems and 2 opperations ive pilled the weight back on and im desperate 2 get it back off. ive been back on induction 4 a couple of weeks, i cant seem 2 get any of the weight of im doing the same thing as i did last time without any luck.
The only thing i can think of that is different is that im not walking my kids 2 school anymore due 2 mobility problems. dont know if that would make a difference?
Any help you can give me would be great as this is doing my head in. the other symptons of pcos (harieness iregular periods) i can live with but the weight is really getting me down.
    thanks

For some reason the second time around seems to go slower. I think and its just an opinion, but i think we aren't as careful as we were the first time.
Find some sort of exercise. PACE, swimming, something, even if its just weight lifting for your arms, its doing something and getting you in that exercise mind set
Start a journal of everthing that you eat. Use fitday as it keeps us honest.
Post a couple menus in the Review My Menu section as there may be something that you are eating that other folks know is a problem causer.
And DONT GET frustrated, cause that is what causes so many folks to just give it up.

    41 pounds down and counting

        welcome to ADBB.

Are you taking any meds? they can effect your rate of losing and yes exercise has a big effect on our rate of lose.

It might take a while for your metabolism to correct itself from being off low carbing for those 2 yrs. But the good thing is you know how Atkins works and you know it will work.

If you are eating your Atkins according to the rules of induction you know you are in ketosis and soon your metabolism will adjust itself to being a fat burning machine and you will be seeing those inches of stored body fat mealting off your body again.

        HAppy low carbing.

good for you! In a few weeks you will be amazed you even wrote this and were worried about it not working.

Have you talked with your doctor about some PT for that immobility. There are some wonderful exercise programs for even wheelchair bound folk.

            Happy low carbing
