  • Does anyone have Insulin Resistance that's Not Diabetes OR PCOS? - More about me :)

    Hi Folks!
I'm crawling all over the forum lately, trying to take a look around. I'm on the 'Second Time Around' board because well.. I've been doing Atkins off and on since 2000 or so. We've been TTC since 2004/2005 with a chemical in Jan of 06.

I was diagnosed with IR in October of last year and have been on Metformin. My doctor did every test imaginable and I'm perfect.. Except my IR. So I went on Metformin.. Started low carbing and an exercise routine per doctors orders. I'm down 20lbs and I'm starting to finally see what a womans body is suppose to see!! IF you know what I mean.

So.. Since I'm not diabetic.. And I don't have PCOS.. I'm in the middle somewhere. I have regular cycles and I will be testing on Sunday I figure I can relate to most of you on here.

Me. I've never received a dx of PCOS nor diabetes. Matter of fact, my blood sugar after a burger, fries, and milkshake has been tested at 75. However, I have a problem with light hirsutism (thank God it's just the same 3 stray hairs that are easily hand-pluckable).

I'm thinking, however, that since I carry pretty much all my extra fat in my upper body, (like most men), there must be something up with my hormones that causes this problem.
