  • Feet pain, heel pain, swollen feet, etc

Hello ladies. JuJu wrote “My feet hurt so bad and swell after normal activities, that I cn barely walk after I get off work.” I am also having issues with my feet hurting and swelling. Eps after I exercise (which I do at night) in the morning my feet hurt so badly that I hobble around for a while like an old woman. I have gotten lightly and never had feet issues when I was heavier. Does anyone else have issues with their feet?
Wait-Don’t diabetics have trouble with their feet? So would it make sense that an insulin-resistant person might also have trouble with their feet?
    So many questions…

I would definitely see a doc if I was having this problem. Many of the problems diabetics have are related to poor circulation in the feet...so it is possible....

I have what sounds like the same problem. When i asked my dr. about it he said it was plantar faciitis (sp?) an inflamation of the ligament that runs along the bottom of the foot. I only have it in my left foot. He gave me stretching exercise to do. They seem to help a little bit. Try gooogling it. and check with your dr.

Sorry I've been off board for the past few days down with a bug.

there are many causes to feet pain. your diabetes could be one, planar ficatiisits or it ould be poor landing technique as in not landing on your heel and rolling up onto your toes when walking or running, bad surfaceses exsecised or stood on. or even old shoes as most exercise/running shoes compress in the shock absorbing area over time like about 5 months or couople hundered miles.

there are many things you can do to treat the injury but I'd urge you to go immediately to see your doc to first correct the actual problem causing you this injury.

Before I had the surgery to remove my one ovary, my feet and ankles always got very swollen. I always assumed it was because of my weight. After my surgery, I started atkins and since I have lost weight, I haven't had any problems with them since.

Just my opinion, but I'd have a doctor check it out, you can never tell what is causing it.

This is really late, I know, but just in case you do come back to check this thread...I had the same thing in both feet. In the morning, it would feel like I was walking on glass, the soles of my feet hurt so bad, especially my heels. I had the swelling problem, but oddly enough, it almost hurt worse when I would go through a period of losing water. I would stretch my feet through the day, and tried to get better walking shoes. It has been about 4 years now, without any pain, so there is hope. Because you have diabetes, I agree you should get it checked out, but another good tip is rolling the ball of your foot back and forth over a cold bottle or can. It helps if its not something fizzy, though, since it can burst.
