  • Any suggestions for....

    Morning sickness??

I'm not enitrely sure I'm pregnant yet, but i'm showing alot of 'symptoms'...and does anyone else hate the phrase "a little pregnant" or "barely pregnant"?

Anyways, at this point, I'm just trying to get some calories past my fickle nose/stomach. Right now I literally have to leave the apartment while my husband's "cooking". Even PB&J sandwhiches set me off. The only thing that I've found I can eat without too much problem is tuna mixed with some chopped bread and butter pickles (not dill) and no mayo. I would have thought for sure the strong smell would be a problem, but my mother ate alot of it when she was pregnant with me, so I took a shot.

Any ideas? Eggs are no and meat is a double no. Saltines work great, but 3 foods get a little old and I was hoping for some suggestions to vary my current forced diet.

    Thanks!!!

Most of the over-the-counter pregnancy tests are extremely accurate and usually will tell you before any symptoms occur.
If they say you are pregnant you definitely are.
If they say no you most likely aren't.

My wife "knew" before she took the test what the result would be....

Well done, Iap! heh Iap is right about the tests

As for eating - stay bland and eat small and frequently. I wish I had more advice for you, but tolerable foods are as individual as babies and pregnancies are. I had horrendous morning sickness with all 3 of my kiddos for MONTHS. I feel your pain.

And a tip for when they toss the prenatals at you to take: Take them before you go to bed so you can sleep through the nausea

      Congratulations!!!

LOL I'm aware of that, I'm just chicken. Most the tests are "invailid" after 10 minutes and it'd take at least that long for me to talk myself into going to check it out.

You can get preggie pops at some of the baby stores that are for morning sickness. I also believe peppermint works for some and watermelon for others. I just stuck with the foods my body could tolerate, took my vitamins, and drank lots of water.

Preggy Pops are good, and Lemonaid too (with Slenda)

Thanks for the suggestions!!!! Watermelon I found just way too sweet, but lemonade, unsweetened, is a god-send!!!!

I got good news and bad news from the doc.

Good news: yes, I am pregnant. Wow! Couldn't have guessed that one......I'm just too much of a whimp to find out myself.

Bad news.....they seem to think that the placenta isn't connected the way its suppose to and in addition to upping the chances of me not carrying to full term, it's also possibly causing the tuna-only diet my tummy has demanded. They think I'm 8 weeks....so I have an appt in a week and a half to see if there really is an issue or not. Its odd....they've had over 19 years to perfect on the ultrasound, and I've heard that they've got nifty do-dads in color and such....and they're "not sure" about something that it shows....Kinda odd to me
