Things have changed so much since I gave birth to Makale four years ago!
I went on my labor and delivery tour last night. The hospital is brand spanking new, so that means that L & D is state of the art. The rooms were huge! The rooms come with wireless internet, full cable, couch that pulls out, a marble bathroom with a huge shower in it, a cafe two floors away, family waiting rooms, and so much more. The best part is they no longer use the metal leg stirrups. INstead the stirrups are electric and adjust to each patient. They have thigh support also, so your whole leg is supported. They now adjust your legs lower and give you a pull bar for your arms so you can use gravity to push the baby out! No more laying on your back trying to push the baby out.
There is also a "no wait" epidural meaning when you need it you get it instead of waiting an hour or so for the anesthesioligist. That happened with me with both Casey and Gabriel with Gabriel's epi being so late that it was no use. THe eipidural is also continuous so you dont have to worry about the medicine running out.
While in the room a lady in labor the next room over began screaming. She scared the dickens out of me and I got nervous. I can't believe I'm going to be delivering this baby in a few weeks. Her screaming made me remember the pain with Makale (he was totally natural), but like Cindy said I'll prbably just shoot this one out! LOL
Finally, after the tour they gave us a diaper bag back pack. It is sooooo cool and filled with goodies like formula and a bottle. Oh and I was the oldest woman there... I was surrounded by all these little chickadees.
Just thought I'd share my tour with yall.

I finally decided I was going to have one and they couldn't give it to me. My three kids were all born natural. Enjoy the next few weeks with the birth and graduation. BTW- My screen name is Momtofour. I have a stepson and three more kiddos.
