has anybody had one of these done yet? I'm going to have one on Monday (the 26th) and just curious as to who has had one and how they turned out. I'm pretty excited....it's hard to have a little guy in there for 9 months and you only get to see him once before he's born lol

I have only seen them on TV and online. They seem really cool. Why are they doing it? I think it depends on how the technology is where you live and how available those machines are. I do wonder if they can tell even more about the Downs by being able to see the features so close. Maybe this will put your mind to ease a little more. Good luck. Try and post some pics.......I would love to see them.

We're just doing it because the pictures that they can get are pretty good. One of my friends had it done with her first pregnancy and the baby looked exactly the way he did when he was born. They tape it for you too, so you have the momento...I believe we get a cd-rom of pics too, so I'll try and figure out how to do all that lol

I had one with my baby daughter at 7 months and it was amazing. It really helped my husband bond with the baby too.
I still have the DVD and she can watch it when she grows up.
        I totally recommend it.

          Re: 3D/4D ultrasounds

When we first found out I was pregnant we fully intended to go to Dallas and get the 3D/4D thing done. One of our friends had it done and showed us the pictures and video. It was amazing. Then my dr got a new ultrasound machine. It can actually do the 3D/4D stuff. So I guess we kinda blew off going to Dallas. We may not get all the little momentos but it sure beats having to ride in a car for 5.5-6 hours and having to pay $150-200 for the ultrasound package. We're kinda tight on money now anyways.

Wow $150-$200. In the UK it costs £275!

I had one with my first baby at 30 weeks. It was amazing, still have the video (need to put it on disk ASAP!!) We could actually see her little face and she was sucking her thumb.
Missed it with my second pregnancy, she was born at 30 weeks, so she surprised us a little...
              Absolutely worth it!
