  • Hi, very nervous here...

I have been sick at the sight of food for the past 2 days and am about a week late. So I took a pregnancy test and a big +. One question I have is can this diet affect pregnancy tests at all? Or is it for sure positive?

And now why I am nervous, or terrified. I have 2 boys ages 3 and 6. And in 2004 I had a miscarriage and then an ectopic pregnancy a few months later. They had to take my tube. Hubby and I have actually been trying for a year and a half and nothing has happened. So this is a BIG surprise. I'm going to call the doc on Mon. Hopefully they will start me off with blood tests right away. Everyone that prays, please pray for us.

Hi Sarah, I don't think ketosis will affect a pregnancy test...I've never heard of it happening anyway. I hope you are pregnant, since you've been trying. Just in case, you should get out of induction and eat at maintenance levels. I'll keep you in my prayers for a healthy baby and a happy pregnancy!!

        Re: Hi, very nervous here...

OK, so I bullied myself into the doctors office. They tried to make an appointment for 2 weeks but I reminded them of all my problems. And wouldn't take no for an answer. She called my doc, (wasn't in office today) and they did a sonogram right then. So far everything looks good. There is a sack in the uterus. They were going to schedule me for an appointment in 4 weeks but I reminded them that when I had my ectopic I had a sack in the uterus then also. Only it was filled with blood and not baby. So in 2 weeks I get another sono. And then 2 weeks after that I have my first appointment.

But so far everything looks good. The sono tech said that it didn't look like a false sack and I almost started crying right then. Happy tears. If I can just make it to Dec, everything should be ok. I'm praying every day.

                  Re: Hi, very nervous here...

First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! This is very exciting news, especially if you have been trying so hard.

Secondly, if you ever need to talk, vent, cry, whatever, I am here for you. I can only imagine how hard that ordeal must have been and how scared you must still be. I would be too. Just remember, the power of good thoughts is MUCH greater than we think. Just keep your head up and I promise I will pray for you everyday.

I had a very difficult time with my first pregnancy. I was in an accident at 4 months and I was a wreck after that. But, in the end, we always manage to pull that last ounce of strength from our toes and face it head on. You stay strong, like you've been, and please please keep me updated.

You take good care of yourself and rub that little belly for me.

                  Love and Prayers, Stephanie
