Pebbles, I know what you mean. I also feel that people look at me and say I should be very happy that at least I do have a child. Well it took us 4 years and we have not stopped trying and he is 4 now. Maybe this is a four year thing!! I took clomid the first time around.

It took me ages to be able to look at a baby show or even talk to people with children before I had my own. People who have never been in the situation really don't understand. I think I have come to terms with my situation. I will keep on trying but it is not the end of the world if we are not blessed with another.

Anyway girls, I am very happy for the support!!!

2big, I did have a look and yes, the Atkins for Life is written by the good doc himself. I am going try some of the recipes for Christmas as well.

Guest, who are you? Forgot to sign in huh?

Hi guys, I have upped my carb intake BUT I now find that I am waking up with reflux. I feel dreadful. This happens everytime I eat too many carbs. I can't seem to find my number.

If nothing happens this month I think I will have to do a quick 3 day induction and move through OWL rungs for the next week and a half to try and find the number. This is harder than I thought. :sadblinky

I had inquired this on another thread...If this WOE is harmful to trying/expectant moms/infants and/or nursing moms...it seems contradictory to me...as humans we began foraging for meat and berries and such (lo carb)...and back then our species had babies just fine and breastfed as the ONLY way to nourish our young with no problems!!!....so why would it be bad for us? I am native american, and I know my ancestors did not have cupboards of carbs to load up on?!? I know some say they ate lots of corn...but that is not so. Wild rice was in my kins diet, but they did not use it on a daily basis like we now use the pastas, breads, and so on. Meat was the majority and then plant matter and they seemed to reproduce just fine. It just simply does not make sense to me...lo carb seems to be the way our species was designed to eat. :confused So, opinion-wise, I think maybe this must just be told to us to keep the lawsuit-happy wolves at bay! I take vitamin supplements, get plenty of legal veggies and lots of protein and also use flax seed meal on a regular basis as well as lots of dairy. I am not worried, personally...I am eating way better than i did with my last 3 kids/pregnancies/conception...it just to me seems better to have stable blood sugar for pregnancy...I agree you may need more carbs when you ARE pregnant...but I remember that I did not eat much for carbs with my others and they were all fine? I was not doing Atkins then....but to me I think the only bad part for pregancy would be straight induction? As far as conception...if you are taking supplements and getting your veggies too..would there really be a concern? I am not TRYING to get pregnant...but I would not be adverse to that happening at this time for me...so I am keeping the idea in the back of my head that It could be a good possibility. I am on modified induction and plan to stay there for a while and I am not worried about getting pregnant with any problems.

This woe is better than the starvation and low low calorie abuse woman have been doing to themselves for decades now!!! I hope I do not sound argumentative... :wave But I do wholeheartedly believe in the health wiseness in this diet. It almost seems contradictory for me to say "I am eating healthier and it is the best thing for me and my wellbeing"...but to then say in the same breath..."but I can't eat healthy like this if I am going to concieve/carry???" If we can live off of our fat stores, so can our young...that IS in essence why women carry excess weight so easily! So that in times when food sources were scarce (way before the grocery store existed evidently! LOL)...we could sustain both ourselves and our young in the womb or breastfeeding children! There are cultures that have thrived just fine without processed foods and grains...So what is the real basis behind eating this way and reproduction? Are there any studies or whatnot that substantiate or even imply that this would result in putting your unborn child at risk? I, for one, am NOT convinced.
