Hi All! I am not new to Atkins, but haven't followed the plan for the past year due to pregnancy. I did stay close to it, but added some foods that really were not good for weightloss.
Anyway, I am not doing Induction, but am eating as low carb as I can. I am having double the veggie requirement and if I am hungry, I certainly eat. My priority is my DD and keeping my milk supply for her. I plan to bf until she is 2, so I really don't want to keep this weight on.
I had bp issues with pregnancy (chronic as well as pregnanc induced). If I eat too many carbs, I retain water, bp goes up and migraine hits! My doc told me to cut my carbs down to where I no longer retain the water in hopes of also keeping my bp in check. I do take bp meds as well an aspirin a day and a prescription vitamin B supplement for high homocystein levels.... That is really why I am writing - Dr. A mentions it in his book (the condition I have) but doesn't address it any further.
Anyone else have problems with high homocystein levels???? It wasn't a result of my pg, but it was discovered during....
Thanks! Rain
