So....
little lady Jenna has made her arrival to this planet. She was born on May 15th weighing in at 9lbs. 3oz. and 21 1/2 inches long.
I went to my appointment and the dr. decided that I should go over to the birth center just to monitor the contractions. They left me on that thing from 10:30am to 2:30pm and all the while I was having regular contractions every 12 to 15 minutes. Those were the same ones that I'd been having for the past month 24/7 and by then I was just a touch cranky.
I was about 4 1/2 centimeters too and when the dr. came in to check things out she said--hmm... Why don't I take a look at the induction schedule and see if I can get you in there for NEXT MONDAY!!
lol. What else could I do but say--alright and cry.
However, someone was smiling down on me that day because she came back and said--You know what, let's just go ahead and induce you now. This is your 4th baby and all your others were induced on or before your due date and your body seems ready to have this baby---DUH.
So right then and there that woman became my best friend in the universe.
They broke my water and hooked me up to my ole pal IV and Pitocin. By 7:30pm Jenna made her arrival. I only pushed 4 times and for such a large baby (my personal largest) I didn't tear or require an episiotimy (sp?).
Recovery however was a whole other story. That night I ended up a vomiting mess. They had to give me a shot for it and some strong narcotics to calm me down and the next night I passed a clot that was---I'm not exaggerating here---larger than my baby's head. The nurse was like--No wonder you were such a mess last night.
I also mananged somehow to bruise my tailbone. That makes sitting or walking a nightmare. It's just been the last day or two that I am starting to feel like myself again and get back into some sort of routine. I've felt almost like I've come out of a really bad flu for the past week.
Anywho--that's my story. I'll try to post some pics within the next couple of days in between Jenna's naps, which are few and far between!! lol.
