Hello, everyone! I haven't been on the boards since November and I missed it! I was going to have weight loss surgery to aid with my low carbing but unfortunately, my husband lost his job last week and that meant no more insurance and then I found out this week during an exam, that I am pregnant! You could have knocked me over with a feather! I was still slightly following low carb but not as much as I was before and had planned to go back on full Atkins since I lost my insurance but now, I happily can wait it out! I can't believe after 7 yrs of trying I am finally pregnant! I still credit Atkins with my pregnancy because even though I did not follow it to the letter for several months, I did not regain the weight that I have lost on it nor go back to all the sugary, bready stuff I ate before.

YEAH JUJU!!!!!!! Now both of our dreams came true!!! When you sent me that PM about 2 years ago, and we were both trying to conceive, little did we know that our happy day was right around the corner! This news made my day! Welcome to this forum, and may your pregnancy be as easy as possible!
On the sadder side, sorry your husband lost his job, and I hope he gets a new and better one really soon. That would be very scary to be w/out insurance, and I hope things work out for you. BEST OF LUCK!

I wouldn't stress too much about the insurance--that's what medicaid is there for. With no income you definately qualify. Depending on where you are however, finding a dr who takes it could be tricky.
Congratulations on your pregnancy. After waiting all that time you must be on cloud nine!! Keep us all up to date with your news. I love hearing baby stories.
What are you guys hoping for--boy or girl??

Thanks Paula and Meena! Maribelle! I now what you mean! When I came back and saw you were pregnant, I was so surprised and happy! Way cool! And people say this WOE doesn't work! lol! I will keep little issac in my prayers. I am really hoping for a girl but as the saying goes, "as long as its healthy....." As for the insurance, I am applying for medicaid this week, God willing. I really need to get that going because I haven't had my first prenatal exam yet and I am anxious o do that as quickly as possible. I also am applying for WIC. God willing, my insurance from my job will kick in around October and that will be great because it is really good insurance. And they can't claim my pregnancy is a "pre-existing condition" because my husband and I worked for the same company and I was diagnosed before the insurance terminated. Heheheheh!
