  • Monday check-in

Well so far so good for me. I just started dealing with nausea at the end of week #5. I can certainly say I don't like it.

I found a nice tip that seems to settle it a little... before getting out of bed if you eat about 4-5 crackers and a little fluid then sit on the side of the bed for 5 minutes before standing up it seems to be less intense.

Today I start my new job. I am going to stop at the store before work a buy a salad to eat for lunch. Taking my huge water cup with me for convenience.

My doctor said I could continue to do WATP so this morning again I put it in and turned on the 2 mile walk. I am finding I make it through about 1.25 miles before it gets way too hot in the room for me. So at about 1.2 miles I take my weights outside and walk up the street in the cool morning air (uphill) doing arm exercises). It keeps my heartrate up, but lets me cool down too.

My diet has become VERY VERY choice concious... even moreso than ever.
My typical breakfast is 1/2 cup of grapenuts cereal with 2 strawberries, sliced, 1/2 cup of Hood's Milk and 2 packs of splenda. I had trouble grasping eating the grapenuts with their high carb content, but I don't like the Atkins cereals and it was the only I could find with no added sugar.

Lunches vary, but typically I have a serving of whole wheat, usually bread, some veggie or fruit and something along the lines of chicken salad....
I learned that you should avoid sprouts while pregnant, so my alfalfa srpouts in the fridge are going to the trash soon. Also, it says not to eat raw seafood, deli meats (with heating them first), and herbal supplements/teas.

I've finally got rid of my caffeine habit thanks to this baby.

Oh yea! I've somehow managed to lose 3 pounds. MY doctor happened to mention that she'd be happy if I only gain 25 the whole pregnancy, but that I could probably lose up to 20 without hurting the baby at all. Looks like I'm on my way lol.

Anyway, I better go get ready for work.... Don't want to be late on day one!!! lol

    I'll check in again soon

Good for you! You sound like you have really made a conscience decision to have a healthy pregnancy! Yay for you!

I totally understand getting around eating something that seems "high carb". I am still wrestling with it, but I'll be honest, Pepperidge Farms seven grain low carb bread has been a lifesaver for me.

Great Job guys!! Wish I could say the same..I have been living off of cheese to be honest the past few days. It seems that anything "protein" helps keep down that sick to your stomach feeling but that seems to be the only thing I can get to my mouth. Other than that I don't feel hungry at all. I tried to eat a "treat" just because and it was sooo sweet it made me sick..ugh..well I have learned as of today to take my prenatal vitamins in the evening right before bed..otherwise I am getting sick all day..I am hoping the ukies disappear a little with the new found method..anything is worth a try at this point..lol..hope everyone else is doing well today!!!
