I walked a mile on the treadmill (without holding on--a friend told me that it doesn't count if you're holding on. I felt like I was going to fall off and got dizzy so I quit after a mile), 10 minutes on the elliptical, and 15 minutes on a recumbent (sp) bicycle.

It does count. And as you get used to it, you'll be able to go without holding on. I've been using a treadmill for a few years now and even these days when I run on it (rarely... I prefer to run outside) I'm still dizzy when I get off and I need a few minutes afterwards to "learn" how to walk again.

Thanks, G. I'm not sure you'll even see this, but I wonder if the reason I feel like I'm going to fall is that the treadmill seems to "catch" every few steps for just a second, but if I'm not holding on, I feel like I could go down! I've tried 3 different ones now. They do have two big ones, maybe I should try one of those because I am so heavy? Anyway, thanks for the support. I hung on today and felt much better. And, yes, it stills feels like a workout. I WAS the only one hanging on, though.
