  • hashimoto's

Hi Everyone, I don't know if I followed up after my appointment with the endocrinologist. She did an Ultrasound of my thyroid and told me that it was full of Hashimoto's and there was no healthy tissue left. My TSH was 3.32 and she said that was too high. People with Hypothyroid should be between 1-2, so she increased my synthoid and I feel better. I am to get retested in two months to see if she needs to increase it some more or if it is alright where it is at. She also told me with the osteopenia that I need to exercise more and cut out any caffine that I am drinking. She is running a cholesterol test on me since I haven't been tested in couple of years. I did tell her I was on atkins and she was pleased with the weight I lost. Overall it was a good appointment.

      Re: hashimoto's

Hashimoto's is the most common form of underactive thyroid. She gave me a bunch of information on it. After I called my family doctor and spoke to a nurse there who said my TSH was fine, I decided to call an endocrinologist. I am glad I did. She was very supportive of atkins too. I really like her. I follow up with her in June, but if my TSH is still too high, she will adjust my meds before then. Nice thing she is at one of the hospitals that I am a consultant at. My mother sees her too.........D-
