Meds went Down AGAIN

YAY so since I have started Atkins to Date I have had my Meds go Down a lot I was on 175mcg's of Synthyroid and they are down not to 50mcgs WOW they have dropped bu 125mcg's. Weight loss helps everything and so does Atkins. The doc thinks I may even be able to get off of them some day which would be soooo cool.

get off thyroid meds can happen for many females when they get to metapause cause estrogen alters blood proteins that bind up our T4 and when it stops the free T4 jumps dramatically

or you may have been eating something that was suppressing the productionor lacking something needed in the production with your old high carb ways.

Eating Atkins can truely be a healthy way to eat, but unfortunately for many hypothyroid folk like me who have Hasimotos' an autoimmune hypothyroid we can never get off our meds.

Wow Sara thanks for posting I am now off my bp and glyburide but I didn't know it would help with Synthroid I am on 100 mg so I'll be asking the Doc Thanks again and lots of luck to you...Crunchie

Thnaks Crunchie My body is adjusting to the new amount and I am sooo Bloated and yucky but, I know as my Body adjusts I will be back to where I was in no time.

Crunchie your meds will depend on what was causing your hypothyroid. Sarah has posted she has had many things wrong that have been fixed with medication duerring her Atkins time with ADBB and fixing one of those could have helped her thyroid production improve just as it could for you buyt the Atkins plan itself isn't a treatment for hypothyroid as it is for many other things like high BP or blood sugar.
