    Re: Thyroid surgery

Sorry to hear you are having surgery. I hope everything turns out okay. You can try eating mock mashed potatoes made out of cauliflower. The way my husband makes broccoli my daughter mushes it up too. Ask on the main forum and maybe more people can give you advice. Good luck, and best wishes Dawn

      Re: Thyroid surgery

I had a subtotal thyroidectomy in 1998 (due to Graves Disease) .. I wasn't too hungry for awhile, but the recovery was pretty quick .. I don't recall having to eat soft foods for long ..

Hope everything goes well for you!

I agree. I had a total thyroidectomy with 72 lymphnodes (due to Thyroid Cancer) in 2005. I didn't have to eat soft foods for more than 2 days or so...

          Good luck!

50 of the 72 were cancerous...

I totally understand this. My x-fiance had to have his removes because he has MENS2B aka Multiple Encrine Neoplasia... which mean basically no matter what any growths or tumors are always cancerous.... anyway he had his removed and was on a sof tdiet as well. I would recommend. scrambles or omlet eggs, if you have to put its in a food processor. Spaghetti squash with a lemon butter cream sauce is good. hmmmmmm salmon is soft when cooked.... the rest i would put in a food processor or cut up really small just to make it a lot easier.
