Firstly Im going to give a little bit of background on my story. For the last 6 years everytime I would stand up to fast I would get dizzy and very bad headrush.
Over the last three to four years my energy has decreased to the point I would sleep 16 hours a day.
My hair was falling out to the point where I would get out of the shower and be covered in hair from the top of my head! my skin was so dry it would peel of my face and I had to use coconut oil day and night just so I could step out the house with out my face looking like paper.
My hands and feet along with the rest of me were always cold.
Now, maybe these symptoms could be linked to other things if your alot older than I am, I am at this moment 15 ( sweet 16 next month ).
I saw my uncle after my grandmother died and It came into conversation my coldness and tierdness. Apprently his daughter ( my cousin ) had it , he had it and his wife had hyperthryroid. However everytime he went to the doctor they said "no your fine". My uncle and his family are the picture of physical fitness perfection.
However my cousin apprently was getting iller and iller, I remember her have such dry skin on her neck it looked like she had been hacked with an axe.
My Uncle was not content at watching his daughter getting worse and worse and the doctors just treating her symptoms.
He then ran into a specialist named Dr. Barry Durrant Peatfield. Anyway he has treated them all and they are all alot better, My cousins skin which was dar worst than mine has become glowing and beautiful, Her eyebrows have grown back and she is just not as withdrawn.
Well after My uncle said I probably had hypothyroidism I went straight to the doctor and asked for a test.
The doctor said to me when I went to get the results, I QUOTE "the tests say you don't have it, your not over weight and your not underweight" and then gave me a look like I was a attention seeking.
Anyway so I dismissed the notion of having hypo-anything after that as I got worse and worse.
The months before I got this test however, before I even knew about hypothyroid and before I started talking to my uncle I had about four visits to the doctor before mentioning symptoms.
first of all I got headrush all the time along with bad period pains and I had a VERY VERY low blood pressure, something 80 over 50? 50 over 80? either one. They put me on birth control. They treated the symptoms, the reason I would loose vision was because I had Hypo-adrenal function which controls how much thyroixine your tissue adsorbes. And the other two were due to hypothyroidism.
I went back and mentioned how my hair was falling out and I had patches in my eyebrow missing. Now because im a rather hairy person I would say with very thick eye brows she took one look at me and said "they look fine to me". She then gave me a look which told me "you paranoid teenager wasting my time".
I went back about my skin and she gave me a cream for it. Once again treating the symptom not the cause.
Anyway getting to the point, I took my basel (morning ) temp which should be for everyone 36.5. mine was 35.1, 35.5, and now im being treated its at 36.2 now. My skin looks the best its looked since I was a baby and my energy and mood are 100x better. It turned out my mother and brother had it who are overweight.
anyway I urge anyone who think they might have it even if the tests have said NO, YOU DON'T to look at this site Thyroid-Disease.org.uk . The tests are very unreliable and the doctors even the specialists don't really know what they are talking about most if not all the time.
This post is very long and may be a bit incoherant and with many spelling mistakes but my dyslexia is terrible and I was writing this from passion of the subject so its not been proof read.
