Hi
I have been doing a great job losing weight, so questioning whether my thyroid was working or not hadn't even crossed my mind. But...over the past 3 months I have lost a tremendous amount of hair. I thought it was probably due to losing so much weight since May and tried to ignore it. But my hairdresser refused to color me last month because my hair had thinned so much--she encouraged me to have it checked out first. I finally got into the dermatologist a few weeks ago and he tested my thyroid levels among other things. Less than a week later, I had been referred for additional testing. Apparently my levels indicated that I need to be on thyroid meds. I started them last week. I don't feel any different--besides a bit of nausea right after taking the pill--AND a HUGE increase in my appetite. I don't want to eat more often or more food, but that is what is happening on a daily basis now. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?? I'm worried that all of my hard work will go down the drain as I gain my weight back to save my health--and my hair.
