Re: trimspa?
If you do Atkins right, you shouldn't need it. I used to have a huge appetite prior to Atkins. Now I know I'm in ketosis because I have almost no appetite. But I don't skip meals or snacks because I'm not hungry, I just eat smaller portions and healthier food and get full pretty quick by eating things that are good for me.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

Re: trimspa?
The answer to your question is NO, IT IS NOT OK TO DO ATKINS WHILE TAKING TRIM SPA.
In fact, if you are taking Trim Spa while attempting to do Atkins, you are NOT DOING ATKINS. The Atkins way of eating is about changing your relationship to food, eating the RIGHT foods, eating as much as you need, NOT starving yourself, NOT depriving yourself, and becoming HEALTHY.
Trim Spa distorts your relationship with your body and with food. It inevitably leads to starvation mode. It interferes with your ability to learn what your body needs for energy and health. It is, quite simply, UNhealthy.Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05

Re: trimspa?
I agree with Finelly - supplements don't work. They may provide short term help, but once you quit taking them you are back to where you started. And none of them are ok to take for life.
Most people have this myth that once they lose the weight that their appetites will shrink with it and they won't gain it back - "if only I can lose the weight then I will be ok and I will have the will power to not overeat". Well, it's just not true. The appetite kicks in, fueled by carbohydrates, and you slowly gain it all back.
Reducing your carbohydrate intake reduces your appetite naturally - without pills. If you are following the program faithfully, you won't need them.

Re: trimspa?
I had a friend who did atkins and took trimspa, she lost about 100lbs in a year, but then when she stopped taking the trimspa, she started gaining the weight back, even though she hadn't changed her eating habit. I have seen on this board, people lose 100lbs in a year without the use of trimspa or the likes of it. I agree with everyone else, just learn this WOE and forget the dietary supplements.

Exactly! This WOE is about changing your eating habits or lifestyle if you will. Unless you want to or can afford to, screw with your body chemistry for the rest of your life. You will most likely not learn new habits from within. I would also always have doubt if the weightloss was me or the pill responsible for the loss, and the doubt would lead me to doubt my resistance for future temptations. On Atkins, I know the author of my success was myself and this board.
