  • Good Multivitamin

I have a question regarding Atkins and multivitamins.

I have a health problem with blood clots....which means I am not allowed to eat anything green (foods high in Vitamin K). As I understand, veggies play an important role in the atkins diet. My first question is....is vegatable intake important because of nutrient values..or something else? Secondly, if veggies are important just because of nutrients..is there a vitamin or supplement I can take to replace vegatable intake?

    Thanks in Advance,

    Tim

wow I'm sure your doc lets you eat veggies that are not high in vit K the dark green ones which are high in vit K are also nutrient dense. therre are however many mnay not high in vit K vegies on the lists. Dealing with the local coumadin clinic I understand they don't consider iceberg lettuce a high vit K food so you could use some of that in your foods mostly it ould be soy based foods, dark green leafy veggies you'd need to avoid you can eat all the rest of the acceptable veggie. Do you have access to the online vit K foods lists? also watch your multi VP. senior VPs are low Vit K
