if youwant to see just how much vitamins andminerals you are lacking just check www.fitday.com for your menu and in the reports section it will tell you the amount of each vit and mineral you had. it is an eye opening experience for many folk.
Dr Atkins also said most overweight folk are already deficient when they start his plan.
Oh andyou might want to give your DANDR a read and see what Dr Atkins says about tired and weak feeling folk. of course he assumed you were following his directions and havign your vits and minerals too.
now what if someone feels great, then do they have to? cause I hate pills
A multivitamin is good insurance to make sure you get all your nutrients. Often times cravings occur because the body is trying to tell you something. It doesn't know how to say "I'm deficient in calcium, give me some broccoli please" so instead it says "chips, chips, chips, chips" because, well, the human body is not well versed in English. Also, Dr. Atkins says that with soil today being so depleted of nutrients, veggies aren't as vitamin-packed as they used to be. Taking vitamins just helps ensure that you continue to feel great. I don't know that anyone ever gets the exact right amount of vitamins needed on a daily basis from their daily menu without supplementation.
I've been taking a multi-vitamin (mega complex) since the start, and have never felt lethargic or tired since starting ATkins. Last week I added dome OMega multi (it is 1000mg flax seed oil) and a Vitamin E 500mg. One each day for all 3. I thought of getting some magnesium but I have no leg cramps, I had just one about 3 weeks into Atkins, it was a doozy - my leg ached for a few days!, but OK since then.

I believe that whole food supplements are the best way to go. Although they do have carbs (3.5 in mine), they are giving your body a whole nutritional supplement - not fake stuff manufacturered and spliced together. I choose Garden of Life for my daily and priobotics (Primal defense). Everything I have read leads me to believe that it is nutritionally superior in many ways and worth the very expensive price. At Atkins WOL, we believe in eating whole unprocessed foods - to me these supplements move in the same direction.
