  • 2big,Too many vitamins VS not enough??

Okay, I went to the calculator like you said, and my findings were suprising. I decided to post this in a new thread, so anyone else having these questions can search and find it better

Okay, these are my total before adding my Basic 3. http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/ReportAvgNutrition.asp

This is after I added it. http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/ReportAvgNutrition.asp

A few things were added and helped, but not really. Would I be better not taking the Basic 3 and getting the individuals? I know I eat differently each day, so I know I may not have enough one day and too much another, that's why I still take them.

How much vitamins are too much, I guess would be my question.

pssst you can't link us you got to copy and paste it.

BUT without seeing it remember the fitday is RDA not maximum allowed. many water soluble vits pass out with all the fluid we drink.
their are maxs for some fat soluble vits so you don't OD like A and many trace minerals but i can wait for your copy with specific questions to discuss them.

Also, remember that your body does not absorb and /or utilize the entire contents of the tablet. Calcium, for example:

"When purchasing calcium supplements, ensure to look for the elemental calcium content, not the total content. For instance, a pill containing 500mg of Calcium Carbonate provides 200mg of elemental calcium. Hence one pill in this example only provides 200mg of calcium, not 500mg.
Calcium is absorbed in small intestines. Not all calcium we consume will be absorbed. The amount of calcium absorbed is dependent on a number of factors such as the acidic condition in our intestines, Vitamin D level, estrogen level and the type of calcium supplement."

I am so glad you ladies know what you're talkin about! I am clueless when it comes to this stuff. I can read it all day, and never remember....

A few posts up I have my totals. It was all jumbled up, so I had to fix it...it was a lot of work! LOL

what pray tell are you eatting as your salad veggies that your intake of vitamin K is 0 and your calcium is low and you got no D

so you even after vits are low in K D FOLATE IRON AND CALCIUM am I reading your corrections right?

if so you need some D and clacium cause when yoour calcium is low the opara thyroid makes chems to pull calcium from the bones and that chem interfers with thyroid hormones which slows metabolism and weight loss. ( reason behind the yogurt calcium weight loss commercials)

Re: 2big,Too many vitamins VS not enough??

I have noticed that my K and D are low on fitday too. But when you look up the things separately on google or whatever, they are there. Perhaps this is a glitch in fitday?

Also, when you enter a custom food, sometimes you actually don't know the K or D b/c you have limited knowledge due to labeling.

I do eat all my veggies, and sometimes, I'll have a little extra! LOL.

This particular day where I have all my totals, I had 1 cup broccoli, one cup of lettuce and one cup of cucumbers.

I will definately take a calcium supplement today.

broccoli actually has K and calcium in it/ so there is definitly a glitch in the fitday did you tell it in the goals section to track Calcium and D and K? you need to use the pull down mwnu in the goals section to highlight all the things you don't see in the goals section to tell it to track.
