    Few questions about multi vitamins and flaxseed.

    I went to GNC today to get some Flaxseed and the lady noticed I had some carbsmart in my cart (I'm military and gnc is inside our BX) She proceeds to tell me that any type of store bought vitamins like carbsmart, Centrum, all those.. your body only absorbs 30% of. Is this true? If so would it hurt to take 2 one a day when the dosage is one and just separate doses? She also told me that vitamines can be taken 3 months after the expiration date, but to keep them in the fridge for storage. Now I remember reading this in either Atkins book or on the bottle and it says not to do this because it can weaken potency . How long are vitamins good for past their experation date? I also bought some flaxseed and noticed... (dangit doesn't anyone sell up to date stuff?).. it expired in 12/06. Its in a tight seal no air package, it says something along the lines of best if consumed by.. so I'm guessing its "okay" it says that you can store it in your freezer? I'm guessing like coffee. Whats the best way to store flaxseed?

    I think this is a great post, how long to vitamins last and how much do we actually absorb. My DH says I take too many vitamins, but I feel great!
    What would we do without it?

      LOL thanks for the 12/06 thing I dunno I am just so out of it the last couple of days. I feel like everything is just happening all at once. With the hubby on the ship I think I'm loosing my mind! LOL Thanks

        Try to find vitamins that are food based, they are absorbed better. Also capsule vitamins are more easily absorbed than pressed pill vitamins are.




        still have a few more pounds to go!!
