  • How Much Potassium?

I've checked my averages on potassium for this week and it is at 44% of the RDA. For the month it is 51% of the RDA. (According to my DietPower software.)

This is with taking one or two supplements of 99 mg daily.

Do you think it is safe to increase those amounts so I can get closer to 100%?

What does everyone else do that tracks it in FitDay or any other software?

        Re: How Much Potassium?

So, from reading this article I would say that it would be safe to increase my potassium amount since I'm only at half of what the minimum is that is recommended; especially when the average adult gets that plus up to 6 gr per day.

When I go to the berry rung I will pay close attention to how much potassium this adds to my daily intake and try to update.

        Thanks for your help!!

            Re: How Much Potassium?

I needed potassium supplements when soing induction but as i moved up in OWL I didn't need them any more. My doc did the prescribing based on my blood work potassium levels. Some folk who drink more water or sweat more will need more then the daily minimum but their docs can tell forsure with a regular blood test.

Kkat, I have to take a potassium supplement daily or I get awful leg cramps. Oh boy, do they hurt. I have not taken them for about a month and now they are cramping up on me. So I started to take them again the other day and am determined to remember to continue taking them.
