if the vitamins you are taking have 100% of the RDA , what would be the purpose of taking more mg per day?
for example and clarification:
mom has had eye trouble (cataracts and macular degeneration) and the doctor told her she should start taking this new vitamin product that baush and lomb put out. (i actually think they should have told her this ages ago but who am i)
this is the product the docor recommended:

this is the label info:

do you see how much the percentages are? is there a benefit by having that much? it just seemed overkill and the price of the above box at WM was almost $30. mom said she wasn't paying that. i found another brand that had the exact same ingredients plus calcium, same dosage, same count per box for $15. and she said she wasn't paying that either. lol mom.... forever the tightwad.
i told her i was going to ask you guys about this. i know you're not doctors but you know everything else so i figured what the hey.

to really convince her, i need to print off some articles from the web now. i am thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea for my brother to take the added doses. i was told by the eye doctor that checked me last the macular degeneration is genetically passed from female (mom) to male (son, my brother)
