  • Question about after taste

    Hi,

I haven't posted here in ages, but I'm re-starting Atkins and have a question. The reason that I often fail to take multi-vitamins is because they create a nasty after taste for me. You know the old phrase about 'repeating'? Yeah ........ that's sort of it. I take the vitamin, then spend the rest of the day with a yucky taste in the back of my throat.

So I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this and, if you do, how did you solve it? I keep thinking that there must be a multi vitamin that won't do this to me.

Btw, did the Atkins company drop their line of vitamin supplements?

OMG! You noticed it too! Everyone else says I'm crazy!

It's sort of a yeasty, nasty, synthetic bread flavor, no? Anyhow...you are not alone!

But you pro'ly might want to try one of the many different multivits they have on the market now for people like us...like the vitamin gumball, or chewables for adults...yadda yadda.

Nice to know i'm not a fruitcake though!

Yeah, that's pretty close to it. NOT pleasant at all, and definately not something that makes me want to take vitamins on a daily basis.

Chewables? I hadn't considered that. Do they make chewables for adults? Equally important, wouldn't they be full of sugar?

Hmmmm....that IS the question...I hadn't thought about that part...50 cool points to you Dyan!

I know we have to look for one without Iron...I don't know if the chewables meet either qualification.

          Okay....try this link

          http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=1925

It will not satisfy your question regarding aftertaste, but atleast you'd be "following correctly"...

I kinda have to just hold my nose and suck it up...I have gross multivitamins too

If you guys purchase vegetarian vitamins most of them are free of gelatin, and there are specific vitamins that are yeast free. I have to wash my vitamins down with tons of water otherwise I can feel them sitting around in my upper esophagus, not where they're supposed to be!
