garlic pills for the yeast i could not afford the oil of oregano,
    L-Glutanine
probiotics which im not going to take right now since i have an overload of candida i guess or should i start im not sure, im so new to supplements here.
And thats it, i was not sure if i covered everything or not, so any advice would be welcomed.

Oh yeah real quick the multi vit has you taking it 4 a day, i thought that was excessive lol, i have taken vitamins in the past but only one a day!!!

    Re: Help Me Please!!!

    Lisa,
I've been using the GNC women's ultra mega bone density ones. They do have you take 4 a day, but they are totally worth it because they have a full spectrum of vitamins. I recently bought a different (cheaper) brand and I've been regretting it ever since! There is a noted difference in the way I feel not taking them. The ultra mega bone density ones have full calcium, magnesium, zinc and vitamin D. Since I've been off those, I've been getting cramps like crazy in my feet again and I'm drinking 5 liters a day of water!! I'm not getting as much calcium in my new multi-vitamin.

Anyway, your regimine sounds good. Go ahead and start your probiotics. Candida overgrowth is one of the reasons you NEED to take probiotics. They are the healthy bacteria that will help eat the yeast. Check your multi-vitamin, it might already have the full B-complex in it (mine did), so taking a full spectrum B in addition to those wouldn't be a good idea.

      Re: Help Me Please!!!

Lisa, Joy is absolutely right about taking the 4 tablets a day for GNC. It may seem excessive, but those four pills will add up to the labeled nutrients on the bottle. Also, you will have your water-soluble vitamins spaced apart instead of all at once, which really is a good thing.

I wouldn't purchase any more vitamins at this point in time. My advice is to get used to the ones you have and note any changes in the way you feel and so forth by keeping a food/exercise/nutrient diary. This is especially helpful when you're fighting yeast as well. Get into the habit of taking your vitamins so that it's second nature. You certainly don't want to purchase a lot of vitamins and then have a cupboard full of stuff you don't take.

Oh, and I also recommend reading Atkins' VitaNutrient book. He goes into detail about the various vitamins/minerals/amino acids/fatty acids/etc and also about various conditions and what these nutrients might be able to do for it.

          Re: Help Me Please!!!

Ok real quick again sorry im very new to the whole vitamins and supplements, should i take all of these at once, including the other supplements i have. That seems like a lot all at once lol, now the garlic pills says to take twice a day with meals, so that is self explanatory, but the omega complex and the vitamins just says how many to take a day but doesnt break it down to if you can take it all at once or break it up into different times?

            Re: Help Me Please!!!

As a general rule, you may take your supplements together with a meal. There are some vitamins and minerals that shouldn't be taken together, but at the moment, this does not apply to your current vitamin list.

If your supplements suggests that you take 2 pills or more, take them at different times of the day, i.e. morning and night. This is particularly important for water-soluble vitamins or nutrients that tend to cause GI upset or nausea (also why it's a good idea to take supplements with food).

If a supplement is fat-soluble, then you *could* take them all at once if you wanted, just to get it out of the way. It really depends on the supplement and what you want it to do.

For example, most people that take a magnesium supplement consume it in divided doses. However, there are others that take the full dose all at once at night to help with constipation.

I hope that answers your question. If not, ask away.

I did notice as soon as i took my multi today but i broke it up since you have to take 4 i did 2 for bfast and 2 for lunch but as soon as i took it i felt sick to my stomach, and figured it was from the vitamins.

                Re: Help Me Please!!!

I don't mind questions, Lisa. Well, I could make a list of water- vs. fat-soluble nutrients, but that would take awhile, especially with your multivitamin. LOL I will add it to my list of future topic threads.

With ANY multivitamin, you will have both water- and fat-soluble vitamins and such, however, with my earlier comment, I was mostly referring to stand-alone supplements such as your omega oils, L-glutamine, and so forth.

I would definitely take your vitamin at four separate times: basically breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime, or whatever works best for your schedule.

With a multivitamin, there are some common culprits when it comes to nausea, which varies from person to person. Iron (which your doesn't contain), zinc, vitamin C & A are the most common. There are others, of course, but take your supplement after eating your meal or in the case of the evening one, after a little snack.

                Hope that helps!

Valid Rouge do you take a B-complex as well or just the above mentioned women's ultra mega bone density?
