Dr. Atkins did advise the use of flaxseed, wheat germ or psyllium husks for constipation. However, my multi-oil supplement contains wheat germ oil. Is this ok? They are the GNC Multi-Oils and directions for use are 3 times a day. Any input? I'm assuming this is completely fine since he did mention that wheat germ sprinkled on a salad was ok. This is oil, not the actual wheat germ.

Well, wheat germ itself has fiber that will help move things right along...wheat germ oil does not. There are some that find that taking flaxseed oil (1 to 2 tablespoons) helps them, er, get moving. It is possible that wheat germ oil may do the same thing, but I'm not certain. I can look into it. Suffice it to say, whatever amount of wheat germ oil is in a multi-oil supplement, it most likely will not be enough to ease constipation suffering.
