  • Kelp -> Iodine -> Thyroid

    Hey - is anyone out there taking Kelp supplements? I've been reading up on Iodine's role in stimulating the thyroid - and it just seems very easy to not get enough Iodine.

    So....I started taking Kelp supplements (just 1 a day). Maybe it is my imagination - but I've been feeling just terrific.

    I tend to be a bit of a supplement nut anyway (fish oil; megas; B's; Zinc, Mag, etc.) - but this seemed like a really good payoff.

    Anybody else taking supplements with an eye toward Iodine & Thyroid?

      I have read that kelp, iodine is helpful for an underactive thyroid. I have been taking a supplement containing iodine for some time and to be honest I don't know if it is the supplement or the fact that I have lost 20lbs which is making me feel terrific.

      I know bladderwrack is also good for the thyroid it is a type of sea-weed that you find on the beaches in my area and I am seriously thinking about boiling it up and drinking the stuff, haven't quite plucked up the courage yet.

        I've read a lot of good things about kelp, but have never taken it myself. Which brand of kelp supplement do you take? I'd love to learn more about it!

          I have been buying this product and it seems ok and not expensive. I usually buy all kinds of stuff at the one place then I don't pay postage.
