Is it okay to take a diet pill while doing Atkins

I used to go to a clinic that prescribed diet pills which gave me tons of energy and curbed my appetite. Is it okay to start them again? Has anyone also taken a diet supplement while in Induction and is it okay?

I don't see why you would want to take something like that while on Atkins. The process of Ketosis itself (which is what you will be in starting in Induction) gives energy and curbs appetite. No reason to take some chemical when eating natural foods will do exactly that in my opinion.

I'm with Irish on this one. You shouldn't *need* anything like that on this diet.

Whether it's ok or not, I'm not sure. Since you're getting a prescription, you must be speaking to either a physician or a nurse practitioner, yes? I would ask his/her opinion on the subject. Take DANDR with you if you think they may not know this WOE, though most know it as a "low-carbohydrate diet." They should be able to tell you if it's safe to take during induction or if you have to wait until later in the diet if you still feel that you *need* this to succeed in your goals.

None of them diet pills work anyhow. If they did we'd all be on them. Stay with the program ,Atkin's alone curbs your appetite so I see no need to waste your time with any pills. God Bless, Joe

If diet pills worked, more than 50% of the people in America wouldn't be overweight.

Virtually all pills are going to have a chemical process that would mess up the way lipolysis works by messing up gyour blood chemistry, particularly insulin levels.

instead of spending your money on these... get some good supplements and vitamins. SERIOUSLY the KETOSIS is the best thing that can happen, you will not need any more help from a diet pill... and remember ATKINS is way more a way of living than a diet... commit to low carbing.. you will melt the fat with no "miracle diet cures" involved!
