I bought some L-Carnitine at Walgreens (Natrol Brand) 500mg capsules. It says on the bottle to take one a day on an empty stomach. Sunday morning I took one (empty stomach), then an hour later I did my Elliptical workout. I went about the rest of my day as usual, didn't eat any different foods. Probably 2 hours after I took that pill, I felt all weird and shaky. It felt like I was comming off drinking a few energy drinks. I used to drink Red Bull all the time, and it was way worse than those things. I felt awful, like laying down and having too much energy at the same time. I drank as much water as I could, and about 12 hours after taking the pill I finally felt back to normal. Has anyone else had this problem?? I do not want to take this anymore, but I am a bit confused because Dr. Atkins took this every day, but how??? Maybe it just doesn't agree with me. Any ideas?? Thank you!

Re: L-Carnitine, not so good.
I have not had that experience with L-carnitine & I'm sorry to hear that it may be causing you some problems. Perhaps 500 mg is too much for you? I use TwinLab brand and it is at 250 mg a capsule. I don't know if Natrol is a solid pill or a capsule, but how about trying to cut it in half (if it's solid) and see how that smaller dose works for you before just tossing them away?
Hope you're feeling better!

Re: L-Carnitine, not so good.
Thank you for the reply. I gave them to a friend of mine who loves working out. I don't need them, I just wanted to try them. Oh, they were capsules.
Try to get 80-100 ounces a day!
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.
