It was suspected that I have adrenal fatigue so about 4 weeks ago I started taking the suggested vitamins and minerals. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I started to experience dry mouth, which I NEVER get. I have it all the time now so am suspecting it's one of the supplements I'm taking. Does anyone here have an idea of what supplements can cause dry mouth? I am only taking the suggested doses that are on the bottles, no mega doses.

Re: Mouth dryness
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any that would cause that. I know that if you're *missing* certain vitamins from your diet, it will *cause* mouth dryness.
Would you mind posting what you're taking, along with the manufacturer? Also, are you taking any new medications from your suspected adrenal fatigue? A call to your physician may also be in order.

Re: Mouth dryness
How much Vit D were you taking? I just looked it up, too, and the Mayo clinic lists "dry mouth" as an early symptom of overdosing of vit D. Also, taking antacids and other medications with magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus will cause issues, too. Who knew? Anyway, I'm glad that the dry mouth symptom has diminished.

Re: Mouth dryness
The dryness went away for a couple of days and came back. Now I'm wondering if it's from the Kelp caps I've been taking for a month or so. I just read that you're supposed to take them M-F for 3 weeks and off 1 week. I had no idea that I was supposed to do that, so now I wonder if maybe the kelp, which is iodine and is required by the thyroid, has made my thyroid hyper? (I also have more energy than usual and am more alert than usual, but maybe that's from being on Atkins for a couple of weeks?) A friend of mine said she took some herbal caps for awhile and it made her mouth dry. I also take pomegranite caps, cranberry caps and noni caps, plus some other basic vitamins and minerals and I only take the prescribed dosage, never mega dosages. I stopped all supplements today, hoping that's my problem. This is driving me crazy!

Re: Mouth dryness
I'm still looking around the Internet and besides something called SjogrenSjogren syndrome 's Syndrome, I've seen alot of people post that the Atkins diet causes dry mouth, but I've used this diet since the 70's and never had that symptom. Anyone else have this with Atkins?

Re: Mouth dryness
I just started doing Atkins a week and a half ago, but most of the time I've had dry mouth. I know I don't have too much viatmin D b/c my dr. just said my D was very low and I should take it as a vitamin.
I'm finding that sipping water throughout the day makes it feel better.5'3"

Re: Mouth dryness
I second the water
suggestion! I keep it with me most of the time, including beside my bed for in the middle of the night and always drink to get rid of dry mouth. Sometimes too much salt in my food has me drinking so much water I get bloated and STILL have dry mouth! (I'm more careful lately than a few months ago, and there's less of a dry mouth problem. Dry eyes happen less, too, from my staying hydrated!!
