  • Please.Anyone Knowledgeable About Chondroitin & Glucosom

I have been taking Chondroitin and Glucosomine( 1 pill) for a month now. It was suggested to me for joint pain. I have to tell you that this is not a placebo affect but truly works for me. It really, really did. Joint pain-GONE. NIL, NUTTIN'
Well, I always say when things are to good to be true..........
I went online and researched if there were any known side effects and I guess that you can say that now I'm "A-SCARED" to take them.
I am quite disheartened because they have helped so much. I was able to walk and exercise much better.

From what I gathered, these can actually promote collagen growth not necessarily in places that you want. What the heck does that mean???
Will the tip of my nose expand to the size of the brooklyn bridge?
Also, there seems to be a sugar compound that does not break down in the usual way.

Please give me some feedback in simple terms because my brain as of late can not embrace anything remotely complex.

PS. I thought that it would have been better than to pop advil all day. I'm so mixed up. Help me. :bang

your nose will continue to grow as you age as does your ears because of the cartilidge whether you take the stuff or not.

many orthopedic docs recommend them. your body needs then for cartilidge growth.

Since you are doing better on it contiue to take it most manufactures do recommend cutting back the dose after the initial peiod depending on the maker from 1 month to 90 days if you took the super strong one to start with.

oops forgot to address your sugar issue. there is one study that does suggest diabetics need to monitor their blood sugars while taking this. Are you a diabetic? or do you have insulin resistance? those would be your only sugar concerns.

2Big-Hi! Now how did I know that you would come to my aid?
        :hug

Bingo. You hit the nail on the head. I'm having mucho problems with my foot and joints. I just had XRays and a Dr's. appt. on Friday for my tootsies.

I am aware of the Diabetes concern and do not have that disease but DH does, which is mainly why I looked this supplement up in the first place.(To see if it was safe for him.)

But somehow while researching it online, I came upon some kind of a support group or chatroom?? where they were discussing how this supplement exacerbated their Duypuyten Disease.( Of course I had to look that one up as I have never heard of it before.)
Then, in a separate place there was the info about the collagen. I was thinking Yikes!! Should I even be taking this?

I guess that I'll resume taking them because there was a major difference. Thank you.

there are 14 studies in the NJAM that say it works and all the diabetics have to do is be aware it might increase their blood sugar level and correct their carbs or meds to account ofr this rise.
